‘Unholy Trinity’ is a deeply personal project which reflects on 15 years of stress, anxiety and hypervigilance giving rise to actively recurring suicidal thoughts. The place where these visualisations first surfaced was on part of a nightly walk which shortly afterwards became the site of a CCTV camera. Through this project’s photographs, a story of being watched yet unseen emerges - inner turmoil and suicidal thoughts remaining hidden from everyone. The self-imposed seal of silence felt unbreakable, even when confronted with the loss of friends to suicide.

Being reported as a missing person forced the 15 years of silence to end. The many conversations that followed with family, friends, the Crisis Unit, and mental health teams was transformative. People—both familiar and strangers—have since shared their own experiences as a result.

This proposed exhibition is not just a reflection of a personal journey but is also an invitation to others to find their voice in the face of silent suffering. This body of work reflects that journey, from silence to quiet conversation, and the power that comes from being heard.
